Margaret Huddy
Margaret Huddy's watercolor paintings capture the "spirit of place" wherever she works. Her joy in experiencing the environment is felt by all who view her work. An optimist, whose cup is always half full she strives to share that joy with all of us. Margaret feels deeply the need to open the eyes of everyone to the beauty around us. She considers this a solace for us in such a troubled world. The smallest garden, weeds by the wayside and the grandeur of great old trees capture her interest. She has painted "en plein air" in her travels with her Marine Corps husband. Of late the camera has become an invaluable tool while traveling abroad. Together with her miniature sketches and slides she is able to recreate the feelings she had at the scene when painting in her studio. Margaret Huddy's work is known internationally. She has taught and lectured in the USA, Italy, Ireland, France and Tunisia. She has won many awards in national shows and is a signature member of the AWS.
